Plan public meeting on transportation system in Jones county
A Jones County transportation system project named JETS plans service via a 12 passenger van and will begin once delivered. A public meeting is set for May 1 at 1 30 p m in the Jones County Courthouse community room in Anamosa to inform residents about JETS and its board of directors and officers.

First traffic fatality of year in Jones county
A Central City man Gary Marshall 28 was killed in a one vehicle crash Monday April 19 in Jones county. The car driven by Dennie R. Oltmanns 25 Springville left highway 151 west of Anamosa, flipped through a ditch and fence before resting on the shoulder. Three other men in the car were hospitalized with major injuries. The crash, investigated by Monticello Police and Iowa Highway Patrol, marks the county’s first fatality of the year.
