The Methodist Episcopal church holds Sabbath School at 9 39 a m with S J Holmes and preaching at 10 45 a m and 7 30 p m on alternating weeks plus a 7 30 p m Thursday prayer meeting led by A B Simpson. The Presbyterian church offers Sabbath School at 9 30 a m and a 7 p m preaching service led by J D Ulay.

The pool schedule lists Thursday through Sunday screenings with titles such as Whom God Hath Joined Aurora of the North The Pawns of Destiny The Nation's Peril and Vasco The Vampire. Proceeds from Sunday night shows beyond expenses go to the Xmas Cheer fund.
Lightning struck a new block silo owned by H. C. Vestal Tuesday noon. The bolt damaged the roof and ripped the door jam from top to bottom, but heavy iron reinforcements around the cylinder will allow repairs.
Hon Roy Shattuck, Republican candidate for Congress, will speak at the Opera Hall on Wednesday September 30. He is described as a forcible speaker and the public is invited to attend. Also noted is the marriage of Thomas A Welshans and Catherine F Welshans in Sioux Falls South Dakota at the home of Welshans' sister.
Misrs Merrit Gritton Geo Adams William Norris and Miss Olive Adams rode a Sunday excursion to the Illinois State Fairgrounds then the state capitol. A wreck delayed them and they reached the depot late missing their train and spending the night in the city. They returned home exhausted and sworn at Gritton and the railroad.
Dix C Wheeler married Cora A Skeeters Esq at the groom’s sister Mrs W S Rawlings home with Rev Houchin officiating. The couple will establish a home in Wheeler’s north town property and the Enterprise extends congratulations.
Mr Charles Huxford sells his share of the firm Montgomery and Huxford to Herman Brown recently from Clinton. Brown, a licensed embalmer, has practiced in Clinton and is endorsed by Marion Brown of Florida Township. The store, established by the late Frank Cumberland about thirty three years ago, aims for prosperous business and dependable goods at fair prices. Brown is welcomed as a valuable addition to Montezuma merchants.
The Pool Airdome presents Lucille Love as a vivid stage by stage serial. The first installment ran Wednesday of last week and the second Thursday night with each chapter shown in picture form. Readers are urged to start the series at once.
The inspector announces readiness to resume newspaper duties after pavement work. He thanks assistants who helped gather news and asks readers to send in items of local interest, visitors, and visiting happenings. Readers are reminded the phone number 62 is available for tips.

A town hall gathering parodies the biblical Noah story to form an Independent ticket aimed at defeating the Democratic slate in the November election. The group, including Republicans and Bull Mooses, drafted a ticket of two Republicans one Socialist one Democrat and one Bull Moose to mirror bringing two of every sort into the ark. Local notices follow of residents attending fairs and visiting relatives, with social and personal updates.
Mr Parke Beadle of the Rockville Tribune and Mr Horace Heller praised the paving of Main Street. Beadle stated the public spirit shown by the property owners is worthy of emulation by property owners in every town in the county.
