Methodist Episcopal schedule shows Sabbath School at 9 39 a m and preaching at 10 45 a m every other week with evening services and prayer meeting led by Pastor A B Simpson. Presbyterian listing notes Sabbath School at 9 30 a m and preaching at 10 45 a m with evening service at 7 p m led by Pastor J D Ulay.
9 30 a m Sabbath School led by B F Hoover on September 7 30 p m Christian Endeavor and 3 p m preaching every other Sabbath Pastor W E Dye presiding.
Mass on the second and fourth Sunday each month with the time to be announced. Father A H Busald serves as pastor.
9 30 a m Bible School is listed with preaching every first Sunday of each month. Pastor R R Ohaver leads the church program and services.
Schools opened with very large attendance as May enumeration showed growth and many families moving to Montezuma, increasing pupil numbers and taxing building capacity.
The pool program lists nightly shows through the week with varying prices and topics. Proceeds from Sunday night go to the Xmas Cheer fund. Also notes travel by Thomas Welshans and a medical call to Mrs. Dowdell after a colt incident.

Hundreds attend obsequies for James Gillmore at St Patrick's church in Danville Illinois. Mourners include former business associates and eight nephews serve as pallbearers. Two young priests assisted with the requiem high mass at the funeral in Danville.
If weather allows, paving will finish this week and be turned over to the public by October first. The South intersection opens tomorrow, and the alley next Tuesday. Contractors are praised by taxpayers, and plans may extend the street north and south next year in Montezuma. Some critics, mostly non heavy taxpayers, complain despite benefits.
Local residents report visits and travels including W P Montgomery in Terre Haute Lizzie Downin from Terre Haute, Edward Hancock to Chicago and many others visiting relatives. Mont minstrel group plans a winter show with a supper at W P Montgomery’s. Two instructors and clubs hold meetings while births, marriages and store notices mark the week.
At the Democratic County Committee meeting in Rockville on the 12th instant William Flock of Penn Township was nominated to fill the vacancy caused by Henry Myers removal. Myers had been nominated at the County convention for the office. Also notes guests Mr and Mrs F. Max Puett and a performance at the Rockville Opera House.
