Mass on the second and fourth Sunday of each month will be held with the time to be announced. Father A. H. Busald announces the schedule.
A church announces Bible School at 9 30 a m and preaching every first Sunday of each month.
An apology from the Enterprise explains the current edition was largely edited by a substitute due to editors busy supervising Main Street paving. Readers are asked to overlook any syntax or spelling errors until the regular scribe returns to his editorial sanctum.
The Montezuma paving committee discovers a large pool of 500 competent civil engineers in town but lacks unified methods. It chooses to keep paving in the hands of a single engineer and the superintendent selected by the committee to avoid conflicting plans.
Henry Myers resigns his nomination as Democratic candidate for the 8th district commissioner seat due to private matters. A successor has not yet been appointed.
Grover Lawson a paving contractor and Robert Burks a Marion Brick Works employee clashed during street work. Lawson struck Burks with brick tongs, causing a crushed skull. Burks was operated on and recovering. Lawson was jailed, with local tension over possible jailbreak threats.
The pool program lists screenings with prices from five to ten cents. Proceeds from Sunday night go to the Xmas Cheer fund. W A Laverty Mer.
Fred Murphy went to Rockville on Tuesday and to Crawfordsville on Wednesday, reporting travel between the two towns.
William Williams a miner and pearl hunter from Lodi Indiana was killed by a C E I train about 50 yards north of the West Montezuma station on Friday night. Ed Billings found him, Dr Newhouse could not save him, and the body was sent to a morgue for burial as the coroner's inquest proceeds.
Ben Van Leer a Bradley Bros Drug Store window dresser in Marion received a five dollar prize as second place in a national varnish and floor finish window display contest. The award honors his artistic styling and his months of work following “The Bradley Way.”
Martin Warner near Newport visited town on Monday and bought a new five passenger Overland from Frank Pressler, clearing Pressler’s 1914 stock and signaling 1915 models soon on the floor.
Edward Donaldson of Indianapolis visited his parents from Saturday to Tuesday. Tom Pollard of Silverwood plans to move back this fall. Edla Thompson of Indianapolis stayed with Mr and Mrs W H Kemp earlier this week. Marjorie Tait returned from Crawfordsville with Vivian Harris. The Banks Post Office and workers observed Labor Day. no drop in housework noted.
