Little Karl Waggoner Dies at Age Two

Runaway horse injures two youths near Mecca
Fred Watson of Hillsdale and Miss Elsie Jones were thrown from a buggy when a frightened horse bolted near Mecca on Sunday night. Watson broke his nose and dislocated a hip. Jones sustained bruises. Dr Back attended the pair, and the buggy was demolished. Both were improving in a few days.

Piers and Abutments Contract For Wabash Bridge
NEW PIERS The Sheesley and Janney Construction Co has won the contract to build new abutments and piers for the C H D railroad bridge over the Wabash at this place. Floods of 1913 caused the piers to fail and temporary repairs were costly. The concrete structure will be solidly anchored by piling twenty feet or more into river bed and is expected to take all fall to complete with local men employed.

Trial Ends In Acquittal For Laverty Picture Show Operator
The postponed trial of W A Laverty for running a picture show convened in Judge Houchin's court Friday afternoon with a twelve man jury. State witnesses appeared but the prosecuting witness did not testify. After a brief summation the jury deliberated, returning a verdict of acquittal on the second ballot.
