Methodism church page lists Sabbath School at 9:39 a.m. led by S. Jf Holmes on September 10. preaching at 10:45 a.m. every other week and 7:30 p.m. on Sundays. Thursday prayer meeting at 7:30 p.m. led by Pastor A. B. Simpson.

The First National recently joined the Federal Reserve Bank Chicago district as it enters its tenth year of operation, bolstering powers and resources and maintaining a reputation for courteous service to all customers.
A notice states the author has identified with the First National Bank and moved the office there, inviting friends and customers to meet at the new location.
J Edward Hancock and Grace Oldshue wed at the Oldshue home near Waveland in a small ceremony with immediate family. The couple plans a northern trip, then housekeeping in a new bungalow, as Edward begins a Citizens Bank position, with both families extending congratulations.

Frank Pressler sells a 1914 Overland roadster of 35 to 40 horsepower with latest attachments to William King. The Presslers and their daughter Mary ride with King to the sale while King returns home in his new car.
H B Simmons takes charge Monday at The Claude Fellow's pressing and cleaning establishment. He plans alterations and Ladies' Tailored Suits, citing extensive experience and promising satisfaction on all work left with him.
A southbound C E I through freight derailed early Friday morning near Hillsdale, piling nineteen box cars and tearing up rails. One car burned from contents including cheese and bacon for Belgian soldiers. no injuries reported. Crews cleared the mess by ten o'clock, resuming traffic on the two rival lines. The cause traced to a broken ice car truss rod catching at the switch frog near the overhead bridge.
All drivers within Montezuma Indiana must install cut outs or mufflers on cars motorcycles and other motor vehicles to reduce unnecessary noise. Violators face penalties under the town ordinance within corporate limits.
County Agricultural Agent Harry Reed and Supt Homer Skeeters will lead a horse judging contest at West Union school at 2 15 P M Friday. The High School Agriculture class will attend. Patrons and farmers interested are invited.

On the C H and D railroad between Hillsdale and Dana the derrick car broke from its mooring and plunged over the bridge. Bridge foreman Luther Featherston suffered a badly sprained leg and ankle, was helped to the bottom by workers, sent home, and will be laid up for several days before resuming duties.
Thursday night about ten o clock a fire swept the small house on the hill south of the Burns and Hancock Clay plant. Henry Smith owned the house and James Wilburn and family occupied it. They escaped before the roof collapsed, losing all belongings. neither house nor contents carried insurance.
