Thirteen members of the Ydrad Motor Boat Club of Lafayette traveled through this place Friday noon en route to Terre Haute. Four boats, the Georgianna Night Rider Hoosier Girl and Scamp, rested for lunch and refueled before continuing. The Hoosier Girl was the fastest at about fifteen mph. At 9 pm the fifth boat Empress II with six passengers arrived from Lafayette, powered by a 4 H.P. engine capable of 20 to 80 mph, and left for Terre Haute the next morning aiming to complete the run in just over an hour.

Wwm Carty unloaded a four cylinder 40 HP Avery road tractor to haul gravel and dirt on grading contracts. He believes using the machine will be cheaper than teams for handling material on his upcoming large projects.
The Presbyterian church Ladies Aid Society entertained about sixty guests at a lawn social hosted by Mrs. R. L. Dooley. It was the first outdoor event of the season with music from the hostess’s Amberola and refreshments of ice cream and cake, noted as a very enjoyable, merry afternoon.
Clint Christy bridge foreman sprained his ankle Wednesday morning when scaffolding gave way on the trestle between Montezuma and Hillsdale. He fell about fourteen feet and his right foot struck a trace. Dr. Newhouse dressed the injury and found no bones broken.

John Moore aged 58 from Clinton pled guilty to second degree murder for shooting his 57 year old wife on May 24. The court sentenced him to life in prison with jealousy cited as the motive.
