Mrs. A M Kay died Sunday at 5 a.m. after months of poor health. She and her husband A M Kay lived in Montezuma for fourteen years and left four children Marion Mathas Arthur Gordon and Harry. Funeral held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at their home conducted by Rev Hicks. Interment in Oakland cemetery. Large gathering of friends and relatives attended.
Frank Pressler bought a complete canoe camping outfit from two Lafayette youths on a camping trip who needed to head home after selling gear for not less than 25 dollars. The goods included a new canoe cooking utensils tent blankets and a stocked provision box with bread coffee potatoes flour and more. The buyers suspect the sale was shady as the sellers hurried toward the C and E I railroad to catch a train.
Ruhamah Hilbert born in Manchester England January 18 1860 died Montezuma June 1 1918 age 51 years 4 months 14 days. She married A M Kay May 29 1882 lived near Manchester five years then moved to America in 1887 and to Montezuma 14 years ago. She belonged to Pythian Sisters and Wesleyan Methodist Church later joined Methodist Episcopal Church. After years of health decline she died quietly early last Sunday morning.
At a Thimble Club meeting on Saturday afternoon Miss Beulah Groves announced her engagement to Sam D Chips. She is known in the community as the daughter of the former owner of Corner Drug Store, with many friends offering congratulations.
The Rabbit Town water works are completed and dust in that area is now a memory. During Decoration Day a hose brigade worked to soak the dust down, improving conditions for residents.

Mrs Sadie Batley spent Sunday with relatives.
