The young son of Wade Pear living north of Highland fell and broke his arm above the wrist on Monday morning. Dr. Reeder set the fracture and reports both bones were broken, predicting a lengthy recovery before use.
Two Hillsdale youths hired a rig at Roebuck livery and left it hitched near the wagon bridge. It was stolen by unknown persons and later found Sunday morning with signs of a rough drive. No suspects or identity of culprits have been established.
Merrill Rawlston, 17, began work at Dee Clay Works in Mecca on Monday and died after a shale dump caused him to fall into a mammoth muller wheel. He was the grandson of Frank Johns and son of Robert Rawlston of Fairview Park. Burial followed at Fairview cemetery with many relatives and friends in attendance.
The Ladies Aid Society of the Christian church plans an ice cream supper at the opera house building tomorrow night. Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy cream and cake.
Mrs Mayme Dooley visited Terre Haute on Wednesday. A W Jones recovering at home after about a week. Mr and Mrs A W Jones hosted thirty guests from Center Dana Hillsdale and Clinton at dinner Sunday. Young folks from Rosedale went swimming at the pool noted as the state’s finest. E A Boyd and family near Waveland attended Merrill Rawlston’s funeral and were here Tuesday.
