Monroe and West Monroe mayors Arnold Bernstein and C. C. Bell back a Twin City Parent-Teacher Association tag day set for Saturday October 17 1936. Citizens are urged to drop money into empty milk bottles as solicitors collect funds for underprivileged schoolchildren.
Sam H. Humphries, West Monroe insurer, spoke at the Kiwanis luncheon on Fire Prevention Week. He noted West Monroe has had the lowest fire losses this year and could again if the trend continues through December 31.
