An explosion rocked the Aetna Chemical Company plant near Pittsburgh, causing damage and prompting emergency response. Authorities investigated the scene and residents within the vicinity were advised to shelter in place.
Early reports from Oakdale near Pittsburgh indicate an explosion at the Aetna Chemical Company plant may have killed over 150 people. Undertakers and village telephones say a precise death toll will take hours to determine as debris caught fire and additional explosions followed the blast.
