Woman’s quick act saves boy injured by car bumper
Six year old Jack Poimbouef, grandson of Dr. T. L. Hood, was fatally pinned between a backing car bumper and a telegraph post in West Monroe. Mrs. Lewis Haynes immediately pressed on the severed artery, stopping fatal bleeding until he could be rushed for surgery at St. Francis sanitarium. The accident occurred when the Browning car backed up without noticing playing children nearby.
