Boston report states Clarence V. T. Richeson the condemned former clergyman underwent exhaustive insanity tests. Governor Foss appointed three alienists to assess mental state for clemency consideration. Dr Henry Rush Stedman, Dr George T. Tuttle and Henry P. Frost conducted the examination with Richeson.
The examination today occurred in the large music room of the sheriff's house. Richeson showed no trace of nervousness as he walked down from his cell, concluding the session without incident.
After a day of continuous examination from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and a second session from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Richeson showed a weary, hopeless demeanor as he returned to his cell. He ate a hearty supper and read Sunday papers, which were clipped of references to his case.

Ex policeman C W Thomas fired at Hipp P Marks a city council member on De Siard street. Marks was struck in the belt line and right leg but survived. Thomas, detained by officers, is held at the parish jail as injuries to Marks are not life threatening.
