Memorial Methodist Church marks its fourth anniversary established March 17 1945 with a 730 pm service featuring a motion picture history. Pastors since 1946 include Rev George Pearce Jr the present leader, and the church lists 346 members 15 non residents and a 289 member Sunday school in 15 classes.
Three Carolina youths aged 17 to 21 were jailed after Monroe police arrested them at the car nival grounds on Plum Street for breaking and entering. Det. George Wood saw two youths unload an inner tube from his car, and one fled as officers approached. The suspects Delano Nanny, 17, Triton NC Jack E. Lewis, 21, Landrum SC and George W Whiteside, Campobello SC were booked with bond withheld pending investigation.

Jake W. Cox, 28, of 818 Wood street, was cut across the neck by his wife Pauline during an automobile argument. He says she accused him of infidelity and slashed him with a razor. She drove him to St Francis sanitarium and claimed it was an accident. Police investigated. no arrest reported. His condition was not described as serious.

The First Baptist Church of Farmerville La announces a 9 a m Saturday ground breaking for a new 150000 building. Dr M E Dodd of Shreveport will speak along with church leaders and local officials. William Stubbs is architect and Jesse Heard contractor from Monroe.
