The bride wore a rose beige suit with a brown hat and brown accessories and carried a shoulder corsage of Vandrus orchids. A reception followed with a lace tablecloth and white carnation centerpiece. Mrs. C. C. Cutler, mother of the bride, wore navy blue crepe with a red corsage. After a wedding trip to south Texas.
Mrs. James Larkin was elected Fifth district director at a P T A conference at College Place Baptist Church. Other officers named include Mrs. Harry Roberts as assistant director and Mrs. R. F. Sieler as secretary. State P T A president Mrs. W S Vincent delivered the main address on P T A as a Public Relations Force.
The League of Women Voters hosts a full day economic workshop at Parkview Baptist Church with talks on International Trade Organizations Understanding of Credit and European Recovery followed by a roundtable and luncheon. Delta Beta Sigma sorority plans a Lotus Club fashion show at 2 p.m. featuring a complete vacation wardrobe. A bridal shower for Miss Helen Hope Mitchell was held at Mrs. Edgar Robertson’s home with guests including Mrs. Dent Love Henry Austin and others.
Mrs Ernest Duncan Holloway was awarded an honorary life membership by the women of the First Presbyterian Church at the annual meeting. The honor cited faithful and outstanding service in the church Sunday School and women’s organizations as she received a certificate and pin from Mrs O M Arnette.
The marriage of Helen Hope Mitchell and Ralph V. Bird will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Saturday at 7 30 p m with Reverend W Johnson officiating. Mrs Gene Love is matron of honor and bridesmaids include Mrs Ruby Edwards and Mrs Catherine Dupree. Barn owls have inhabited the Smithsonian Institution tower in Washington DC for years.

Bedwell and Mrs. William Perce return from Natchez pilgrimage. Also Arrid deodorant ad featuring Lorraine Davies of Little Rock and Orlando.
Miss Jo Ellen Cutler wed Jessie Lon Lenamon in a double ring ceremony at the Cutler home. Rev. D B Boddie officiated as Easter lilies and cathedral tapers framed the vows before a fireplace. Mrs Warren G Curtis, sister of the bride, wore a navy suit.
