KLIC beat Palace 11 6 with Tucker and Durham among the winners. First National Bank edged H. Michel 3 2 led by Lovett’s three hits. Dodgers beat Braves 6 2 as Blasingame and Johnson shoulder injuries hindered Atlanta.
Parkview downed North Side 19 to 4 as Bratten and Moore hit home runs with Moore earning the win over Watson. Church of God outlasted Southside Methodist 13 to 11 behind Anderson four for four. McLeland won, Hendrix took the loss. Fair Park Baptist topped St. Joseph 15 to 10 as Bill Jordan homered after a perfect night at the plate. McGee won, Posey lost. Malta went 3 for 3 in a St. Joseph loss. Central beat Faith 12 to 6 in Church C league with Priestly homering and Stovall, Futch, Ep pinette timely hitting. Priestly the winner, Smith the loser. College Place Baptist won Church A League 9-6 over Emmanuel Baptist as Hale and Perkins led. Gewin had two hits, Telano doubled for Emmanuel. Calvary edged Temple 12-11 in Church C as Hart and Pettit had three hits for Calvary. Ear l homered for Temple. Thomas won, Thompson lost. Bethel beat Good Hope 14-4 in Church B Y play on Miller and Daley power. Johnson hit two home runs for Good Hope. Alford won, Hay lost. College Place Baptist blasted Edgewood 12-1 as Fontenot, McGowen and Williams led. Bushnell won, Hall lost. Victory Baptist beat L.D.S. 92 as McEnery pitched and batted. Rugge two hits for LL.D. In Church C League College Place stopped First Baptist 8-7 on Woolsie and Mayes clutch hitting. Harrison won, Gilliland lost.
Rich Allen of Philadelphia and Johnny Stephenson of New York clashed at home plate in a tense moment during a 6-4 Phillies win. Allen collided with Stephenson after a squeeze play, benches cleared briefly as both players exchanged words. The game featured Ray Herbert earning the win in relief after a disrupted start by Chris Short.
