In a 20 state vote, cotton growers approved prewar marketing quotas to limit plantings to about 21 million acres, 23 percent below this year. Eyman among four more. The crash occurred after the windmill near the runway was struck. cause not disclosed. Air base officials reported no engine trouble prior to the accident.

Judge Ben C. Dawkins gave Billy Joe Tyra of Arlington and Jesse S. Moore of Fort Worth five year terms after they admitted transporting a stolen vehicle from Fort Worth to Monroe on November 26 in a Dyer Act violation. Both men had prior records and were described as needing supervision and training. They were arrested in Monroe after a woman’s purse theft linked to a stolen car.
The state department of highways announced awards for pit scales in Orleans parish to Morrison Engineering and Contracting Co. of New Roads for 12524 dollars and gravel for public roads in St. Landry parish to Alexandria Gravel Co. for 3540 dollars.

LONVIEW Wash December 16 A 16 year old Girl Scout Ruth Aberile of Kelso was found in a 12 by 12 cabin after four nights in snow and rain. She calmly identified herself and asked to go home while authorities praised the rescue as a Christmas present for southwest Washington. Rescuer Charles F. Smith and his son Phillip found her as gunfire signaled helpers. a large search by hundreds had spanned Cowlitz county. Ruth expressed gratitude and said she hoped no one else would get lost.
