In Rotan Texas a four room frame house on the C A Douthit farm eight miles northeast burned killing 12 or 13 transient farm workers. The victims, two adult couples and eight or nine children, were found by field worker Gardo Trevino. No survivors were evident. The house had no electricity and was lit by candles or a kerosene lamp. Cause of the blaze was not immediately clear.
