Admiral Hussey dies suddenly at New Milford depot
Admiral C. L. Hussey United States Navy retired of Washington D C and Litchfield died of a heart attack on a New Milford railroad platform as he was about to enter his car for his Litchfield home. He was 64 and a recipient of the Navy Cross born August 18 1870 in Rochester New Hampshire and a 1892 Annapolis graduate. He served in the Spanish American War aboard the Oregon and commanded an Abyssinian expedition in 1903. He led the Birmingham in World War I and later served as naval attache before retirement in 1927.
