State's Junior Chamber Chosen Best In Nation
The Louisiana Junior Chamber of Commerce is named the best in the United States by the national Jaycee executive committee. Monroe chapter president Jack Murphy said the group learned Saturday of the honor, after being named Louisiana’s best chapter in Alexandria. Louisiana will lead the parade of states at the national convention in Dallas June 22 to 26, with Miss Louisiana Linda Baucum riding on a float. Charlie Hickman of Alexandria is president of the Louisiana Jaycees. Colorado, last year’s winner, must march with a Dixie-themed float following a tie-break based on membership growth.
