Juvenile admits Clarence school break in and theft
A 13 year old from Brodhead admitted breaking into Clarence school last night and stealing a shotgun from the Alvin Busjahn home near Brodhead. Sheriff Howe said the youth will be turned over to juvenile authorities and the shotgun recovered. Marvin Brandenburg reported a light in the basement around 645 pm and later found a broken window and $13 missing. Investigations of other Brodhead home break ins continue.

Navy Tanker Potomac Burns In Massive Harbor Fire

Wisconsin Toll Rises As Auto Crash Claims Life
An 80 year old man died from injuries after a collision near Fond du Lac while driving a 1925 Chevrolet, pushing Wisconsin traffic toll to 641 for the year. Earlier, 19 year old Richard Doree died in Kenosha after being found dead following a vehicle incident, and four year old Jeana Aliota of Hartford died from a skull fracture after being struck by a car.

Mrs. Bentley Dies at 74 in Monticello
Mrs. Lena Schuler Bently, 74, of Monticello died at 3 p.m. yesterday in St. Clare hospital after a four year decline. Born May 31, 1887 in New Glarus Township, she married Edward A. Bently March 12, 1908. The couple farmed in Washington Township before retiring to Monticello in 1944. She belonged to Zwingli United Church of Christ and Washington Aid Circle. Surviving: her husband, two brothers G. C. Schuler and A. A. Schuler, a sister Mrs. A. W. Becker, plus nieces and nephews. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Zwingli church, with Rev. J. Allan Mittler. Burial: Highland cemetery. Friends may call Voegeli funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
