Tickets Available Cultural Arts Program For Monroe PTA

The Monroe PTA Council launches a four program Children Theater series for kindergartners through sixth graders. Four plays run at Monroe Junior High Auditorium with season tickets $1 and single tickets 35 cents. Major acts include Rumpelstiltskin by Pick-A-Pack Players on Oct 14 and Hansel and Gretel by Hoff's Marionettes on March 26. Lynette Brugger will visit tomorrow to explain programs and parents may volunteer as chaperones.

Kenneth Rhyner Killed in Fiery County Accident

Kenneth W. Rhyner, 33, of Albany, died in a fiery one car crash on Atkinson Road near Albany. The crash occurred after the car left the road, rolled several times, and caught fire. death listed as immediate from a skull fracture. Funeral services set for Zwingli Church in Monticello.

Sen Nelson to Speak at Farmers Recognition Night

Farm Boy Dies In Rural Tractor Mishap

An 11 year old farm boy, Jeffrey Buggs of Janesville, was killed near Janesville when he fell under a trailer wheel pulled by a tractor. He died after arrival at a hospital while attempting to walk from the tractor to the trailer and fell from the hitch.

Judge Sees Colorful Fall Weather Preview

Madison retiree Judge Herman W. Sachtjen, longtime autumn forecaster, granted The Monroe Evening Times an interview predicting a bright fall with mostly sunny skies and little rain. He noted a colorful season ahead over the next three to four weeks and recalled an 80 percent accuracy rate in prior forecasts.

28 Exhibitors at Green County Hog Show Winners Named

Girls Scouts Seek Adults to Lead New Troops

Eleven new adults are still needed to lead and assist with Girl Scout troops as training starts. Several schools report staffing gaps with multiple Junior and Brownie troops awaiting leaders, while Lincoln School shows the greatest need. Training sessions begin Sept 25 at the First National Bank Community Room, Kiwanis Youth Cabin, and Oct 2 at the First National Bank, with 25 volunteers already lined up and uniform exchange chairwoman appointed.
