Mental Health Officers Named Scheffer Elected New President

Ted G. Scheffer was elected president of the Green County Association for Mental Health at a Green County Hospital meeting. New officers include Mrs. Sulzer as vice president and Miss Pat McConnell as secretary, with Miss McConnell also among directors. A donation was approved for the Rock County Seminar on alcoholism.

About 300 delegates at the Pure Milk Products Cooperative convention passed a resolution condemning Lt. Gov Patrick J Lucey s proposal to abolish Wisconsin s tax on oleomargarine The 10 900 members and families represented by the cooperative are urged to vote against his position In addition Paul Affeldt was elected president along with Wesley Newhouse Clarence Hamann David Zimmermann and Donald Uelmen in various leadership posts Sen Gaylord Nelson warned of mounting world food shortages and urged farmers to protect Wisconsin s water quality, predicting no recreation water in 20 years if pollution continues.

Wisconsin teachers shortage not deemed critical by state survey

Monroe High School one act play Markheim by Robert Brome received an A rating at sub district one act contest sponsored by the Wisconsin High Forensics Association held at Monona Grove High School.
