Oral polio vaccine program starts October in Green County
Green County Medical Society announces school children will receive oral polio vaccine starting October 30 ahead of community clinics. Packet letters with registration slips go home. parental consent must be returned before vaccination at multiple Monroe District schools. Adults begin November 1 in several towns with follow ups in December and January. A 25 cent voluntary fee supports administration. vaccine is live, fast acting, and protects against three virus strains. Fourteen cases were reported in Richmond Virginia.

Twenty three floats entered by high school organizations for the Monroe Homecoming parade set for tomorrow at 3 15 p m. The route starts at the Junior high, circles the square, then to Recreation Park with the Pep Band performing. A bonfire rally and Queen crowning are planned with Middleton Cardinals as the opponent and a 7 45 p m kickoff tomorrow night followed by a Saturday dance.
