The Green County Supervisors approved a plan to join La Mayette County in supporting a satellite vocational school in Monroe under Madison. The unanimous recommendation by the county higher education committee, led by Orville Evans, aims for the satellite within the Madison Vocational School system as part of statewide districting by July 1 1970. During a two hour Courthouse session, actions included setting county equalized value at 168,982,810 and allocating 12,000 for microfilming deeds records.

Four Farm Bureau hopefuls compete Friday night in Monroe to be named Miss Farm Bureau. Finalists are Donna Durtschi Mildred Grossen Jane Huffman and Bonnie Zumkehr. Judges include Marilyn Stuckey Virgil Kasper and Helen Zimmerli. The winner advances to Miss Wisconsin Farm Bureau in Madison.
Stephen L. Digman aged 20 will receive the American Farmer Degree at the National FFA Convention in Kansas City Missouri. He is the sixth Monroe Chapter member to earn the honor following Don Witt Nathan Hartwig James Huffman Karl Drye and Ralph Figi Jr. Digman holds State Farmer Degree and two National FFA Foundation awards. His farm spans 536 acres with 110 dairy Holsteins 600 hogs 36 lambs and a top conservation program. Six Monroe High School FFA members will attend the convention October 13 to 15.
