The 37th Orangeville Community Fair opens tomorrow and continues Saturday with 8 a.m. entry registrations. Events include an elementary athletic contest, Vo-Ag tractor contest, style show, movie, and a grades 1–6 amateur contest. A football game Orangeville versus Warren leads Saturday programs, followed by a pet show, parade led by the Orangeville High School Band, Rooster Chase, Pig Scramble, and an evening talent program featuring Capt. Stubby and the Buccaneers. Finalists in the Grade School amateur show and coronation of Prince and Princess wrap up the festivities.

Three Albany youths Sally Stanton Petey and Susan Stears trace six generations of the Steuri and McConnell lines to Monroe’s 1840 wedding. Joseph McConnell born 1811 in Pennsylvania married Urania Porter in 1840 and moved from Ohio to Wisconsin. The families settled in Green County near Exeter Cemetery with ties to the Silver family and extended kin across Monticello and Albany. Siren System Ready Morning In Monroe
Monroe civil Defense Director Ted Weiss said the city will switch to the new siren system at 8 a.m. tomorrow with three signals: Alert for enemy attack, Take Cover for tornado or severe storm, and New Fire Signal. Tests showed improved southeastern coverage with plans for two more sirens and monthly Saturday tests at 11 a.m. The Fire Department will test sirens at least weekly.
