The New Glarus Masonic Temple hosts an open house Sunday October 12 from 1 30 to 5 p m. Cornerstone laying and dedication begin at 2 30 p m with Grand Master Donald Kruger presiding. The former Evangelical United Brethren Church at 207 Sixth Ave was remodeled into lodge HQ. Refreshments offered in Fellowship Hall. public invited.

Juda State Line Squares Shine at World Food Expo Dance

Twenty-two couples from the Juda State Line Squares danced at the World Food Expo in Madison with 250 Wisconsin squares, led by Singin' Sam of Lansing. Two Women Injured In Bath Street Accident

Police report a city crash at 1:37 p.m. on Bath Street injuring two Madison women, Betty L. Fosshage and June L. Heller, with head and knee lacerations. They were treated at St. Clare Hospital and released. A Monroe driver’s car struck a low hanging wire, causing minor damage. Another Monroe driver’s vehicle left a ditch after a sun visor malfunction. no injuries reported.

Albany Board Weighs Land Options and Funds for New Lagoon

The Albany Village Board approved pursuing the $40,254 land options for a new sewage lagoon and plans to borrow nearly that amount from the Bank of Albany. Bids are due to Village Clerk Ruth Bly by Oct. 13 for the project on the south edge of Albany near the Sugar River.

Armed Bandits Rob Farm Couple In Orangeville

A rural Stephenson County couple, Robert and Wilma Wenger, were robbed at gunpoint by two or three armed men who bound them with cords, stole about 100 dollars, eight shotguns, and Wenger’s watch, and fled in an unseen car. Wenger freed himself and alerted authorities. deputies described the incident as the first rural robbery of its kind in a decade.

The Monroe Human Relations Council ratified its new constitution at a dinner at the Swiss Wheel Restaurant on Wednesday noon October 8. Roy Robichaux urged cooperation with government officials to address community needs and asset deficiencies as the council plans ongoing education and outreach. The group meets every two months and invites all area residents to attend. next meeting is at noon November 19 at the Swiss Wheel.

Albany Chapter Order of Eastern Star voted a 10 dollar donation for the Scott Nipple Fund. Eight year old Warren Nipple Jr. is battling leukemia and receiving care at Children’s Hospital University Hospitals Madison. Madison Jail Hold on Groppi Probed by State Supreme Court

The Rev James E Groppi remains in a Madison jail as his lawyers seek a state Supreme Court order to free him. Eleven people were arrested in the Capitol after testifying for more welfare aid at an Assembly hearing.

The Green County publicity committee met in the Courthouse and agreed to produce a new brochure for distribution by early 1970. Ray L.
