Camelot Kicks Off Monroe P T A Cultural Arts Series

Monroe P T A Cultural Arts Committee launches another season of children's theater with the Jester visiting elementary schools to introduce four planned performances. Harms Family Member Featured in Travelogue Film

Monroe residents attend Rotary Travelogue at Monroe Junior High Auditorium describing a film about a bicycle trip by college youths including Robert Harms son of Dave Harms and nephew of Mrs Shirley Harms. Moore Hurt In Accident After Car-Trains Collision

Glenn H. Moore of Monticello was rear ended by a Chicago Milwaukee St Paul locomotive near County Trunk E at 6 31 yesterday. Moore suffered back hip and left arm injuries as his car was a total loss. Engineer Bob Thomas of Janesville was not seen.

Groppi case goes to Wisconsin Supreme Court

Attorneys for Rev. James E. Groppi asked the Wisconsin Supreme Court to rule on the constitutionality of an 1848 contempt law and on the bail denial as they seek habeas corpus relief. Groppi led welfare protests that occupied the State Assembly chambers on Sept 29, prompting orders and ongoing court action. Demonstrators, many UW students, marched near the Capitol amid tensions as state budget protests continue.

Funds To Be Donated For Leukemia Stricken Scott Nipple

Albany reports that eight year old Scott Nipple, son of Warren and Penny Nipple, battles leukemia. He has endured multiple hospitalizations since age two and faces mounting medical bills after insurance gaps. College Night Draws 400 Students And Parents

About 400 high school juniors seniors and parents attended Monroe High School College Night in the Lecture Hall last evening. Guests included students from Black Hawk Juda Monticello and New Glarus high schools with James Haas and John Reese directing. Representatives from roughly 350 colleges universities and trade schools plus the Armed Services were on hand. New additions this year were the Institute of Crafting and Technology Morrison Illinois and the University of Dubuque. The program began at 7 30 pm followed by sectional meetings with school representatives.

Cedarburg allows sex education restart with conditions

Cedarburg Wisconsin board ends months long moratorium on elementary sex education courses with limits. Parents may excuse their children by written objection, and materials including a film, a book, and charts depicting reproduction are removed. About 60 people attended the vote.
