Three Hurt In Accident Near Monroe In Three Collisions

A weekend of crashes near Monroe left three Freeport residents seriously injured two in critical condition and hospitalized at St Clare Hospital. Raymond Folgate 70 and Rose Phillips 72 were in the Folgate car plus passenger Corall Folgate 71 suffered facial injuries. A second minor crash on Highway 11 81 near Brodhead caused no injuries. A separate collision on Highway 69 near Monroe involved M P Welsh 36 and Randall Bocian 17 with damage to both vehicles.

Miss Bernet Monroe Dies in Monroe at 83

Elizabeth Bernet a Swiss native aged 83 died at St. Clare Hospital Monroe after long illness. She lived at 1806% 10th St before moving to Pleasant View Nursing Home. Survived by three brothers and four sisters. Services set for Oct 7 at Shriner-Neuschwander Funeral Home with Rev. Petzold officiating. Burial Greenwood Cemetery.
