Education Week brings parents into Monroe schools November 7 through 13 with a full schedule of conferences open houses and displays. A committee led by Miss Doris Messmer planned programs including Elementary Parent-Teacher conferences November 8 and 9 and open houses November 9 and 10 for Junior High. High School conferences run November 10 with a lecture by Miss Patricia Dinsdale on Modern Math. Window displays feature at four downtown locations as the district emphasizes open access to classrooms.

MADISON The attorney general's office advised all Wisconsin counties that arrest warrants should be issued by court commissioners or justices of the peace. Deputy Atty. Gen. John Bowers issued the recommendation after a State Supreme Court ruling said district attorneys could no longer issue warrants.

Monroe Students Set Off on Pittsburgh Eastbound Exchange Trip
Thirty Monroe Student Exchange members and two advisors depart for a Pittsburgh studying trip. They travel 429 miles today, stay tonight in Louisville at the Sheraton, then move to Charleston and overnight at the Daniel Boone Hotel. They plan to reach Pittsburgh Sunday at 4 PM for a week of activities.

Area Girl Injured In Bicycle Accident
Lois Schlapbach eight year old of Route 1 Albany was admitted to St. Clare Hospital after injuries from a bicycle accident near the junctions of Highways 59 and 39. She suffered contusions lacerations and a concussion but is listed in good condition. Deputies said the girl lost control on loose gravel and no car was involved.

Sixteen Injured as Section of New Building Collapses
At Platteville State University a 30 foot fall of an upper wing during concrete work trapped and injured sixteen workers, eight hospitalized, one in serious condition. The WSC Construction Co. said completion was planned for late 1966. inspectors sought the cause as volunteers aided in rescues.

Two Hollandale youths among crash victims
A car crash near Mt Horeb killed James Coogan 17 of Hollandale and Gary Norton 18 of Mineral Point. Carson Hegland 17 and James Gratton 17 were injured but released from Madison hospital. Funeral services set in Hollandale. Coroner cites ordinary negligence. no inquest. All four were Hollandale High graduates and many attended Madison vocational programs.

Grenade Is Removed From Back Of Man
In Saigon a U S surgeon team extracted a live grenade from the back of Vietnamese farmer Nguyen Tran Chinh 52 after a Viet Cong attack. The 40mm shell lodged under his lower back, and the operation in a shed behind a hospital lasted under four minutes. The grenade was placed in a wooden case half filled with sand.
