Green Lake Farm Boy Dies in Hunting Mishap

Car Blaze on 11th Ave Ends Before Fire Crews Arrive
A car fire on the 2000 block of 11th Ave in Monroe was extinguished by local mechanics before firefighters arrived. Owner David Knouse of Gratiot attempted to start the car by pouring gas into the carburetor, igniting the engine. damage was minor. Fire Chief Josef J. Benkert noted Clark Implement and Stocker’s Garage crews used extinguishers to knock down the flames.
