Wisconsin cheesemakers honor Albert Deppeler for limburger win
Albert Deppeler of Chalet Cheese Co operative Monroe earned the sweepstakes limburger prize at Eau Claire Wisconsin contest. David Seeholzer of Monticello won for brick cheese with 98. Seeholzer also placed second with muenster at the state convention. Awards totals list multiple regional champions across varieties with scores, including Deppeler’s limburger 98.5 and Seeholzer’s brick 98. The Chalet Cheese plant produces about a million pounds of limburger yearly and Deppeler has long guided the co operative since its 1948 founding.
