Memorial Day Traffic Deaths Expected By NSC
The National Safety Council estimates 350 to 450 people will die in traffic accidents over the Memorial Day weekend from 6 p.m. Friday to midnight Sunday, a 54 hour period. The 1959 two day observance recorded 310 deaths.

Special Education Trip To Wisconsin Camp Douglas
The Lafayette County High School and Green County Jr. High Special Education classes led by Rudolph T. Haskee spent May 18 to 23 on a six day Outdoor Education trip at Potter's Eagle Nest Flowage Resort Camp Douglas Wisconsin. Students organized meals and budgeting while camping in tents and performing camp duties. Educational highlights included visits to an Indian cave a 115 foot fire tower Wisconsin Dells and a cranberry marsh and a paper mill. Donations from the Green County Association for Retarded Children supported the trip.
