Archie H. Gibbons aged 60 of 1503 16th Street died at 2 30 am at St. Clare hospital after a stroke on May 6. He had paralysis on the right side and had not been well the past year. Services set for Monday at 9 am at Stuessy Funeral Home and 9 30 am at St Victor Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Born August 5 1891 in Green County he married Elda Matzke in Monroe January 7 1914. they farmed in Green County before moving to Monroe in 1934. He worked at various jobs and was a member of St. Victor's Church. He leaves his widow eight children William Bernard Archie Jr Wanda Monroe Mrs Kenneth Raymer Rockford Richard Milwaukee Thomas Milwaukee and Sgt Edward Gibbons stationed in Bamberg Germany. Sgt Gibbons was told of his father’s illness and is expected to return. He also leaves a brother George New Glarus a sister Mrs William Dunlavey Monroe and 14 grandchildren.

Janesville police chief said the FBI notified him that Wisconsin's six year statute of limitations forced the agency to abandon the Parker Pen Co robbery case from March 20, 1949.
