Violent clashes erupt in Augusta injuring many and burning
In Augusta Georgia an outbreak of racial violence after a teen jail inmate died left six dead more than 60 injured and widespread property damage. Firemen with National Guardsmen and state troopers restored order after over 50 fires set by bands of Negroes Monday night. Authorities said the city was calming early today despite sporadic sniper fire. In a separate report, Ohio Senator Young said a Kent State guard lieutenant should be charged with second degree murder for the shooting that killed four students last week.
