The Senate unanimously approved Judge Harry S. Blackmun of Rochester Minnesota to the Supreme Court. The 94 to 0 confirmation clears the way for Blackmun to join the bench, though no effective date has been set.
Dissension erupted within University of Wisconsin antiwar protesters as leaders clashed inside the Student Union while National Guardsmen waited outside in heavy rain. The clash followed three nights of rain delaying street actions and a push to close the university with a classroom strike.
