Old-Time German Bands Sought for Cheese Days Event

Cheese Days organizers seek old-time German bands to roam the Square during the September festival opening. The Antique Auto Club of Dundee will visit May 20 for the first Cheese Days Antique Auto Show with nearly 100 vintage cars and a square parade. A week starting May 22 targets Cheese Days solicitors to raise 9500 dollars, aiming to sustain the festival amid earlier weather-related losses.

Monroe High Mixed Chorus to Present Spring Concert

The Monroe High School Mixed Chorus under director John Daane plans a May 17 concert at 8 p.m. in the Junior High Auditorium. Performances include Faure Requiem with solos by Marcia Wells and John Schuetze, Haydn The Heavens Are Tellin, Hello Dolly medley, and lighter pieces cap, plus numerous solos and duets. Tickets are sold by chorus members.
