Brigade Saves Barn From Fire Near Monroe
A barn on the DeWayne L. Figi farm three miles southwest of Monroe in Clarno Township was saved from fire started by lightning Saturday night. Neighbors and the Monroe volunteer fire department formed a bucket brigade before the fire crew arrived. Figi his son Thomas and two neighbors Eugene Boss and Walt Vogel helped extinguish the blaze and ensure no further flames.

Mrs. Rufi Rites To Be Tomorrow At Newcomer
Services for Eva Bacon Rufi 57 of Route 2 who died Saturday at St. Clare Hospital after a brief illness will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Newcomer funeral home with Rev. Karl F. Koch officiating. Six More Die As Wisconsin Traffic Toll Rises
Wisconsin's 1962 traffic death toll reached 229 after six new fatalities from weekend crashes and an early morning death. Judith Lee Schlintz, 15, of Black Creek, died when her car left Highway 76 near Appleton and struck a tree. no seat belts were present. Eight Persons Hurt in Single Two-Car Crash
Ten people were injured in county crashes over the weekend. eight injured in a single two car headon crash four miles east of Monroe on Highway 1181 after 5 p.m. Eight of the injured were in the Monroe area, including Richard Zumkehr and Katherine Wartenweiler. Deb Share Comes Close to 300 in State Bowling Meet
Delbert Share of Monroe bowled 11 straight strikes to finish 299 in singles at Sheboygan state kegler tournament. Albert H. Mielke holds Monroe’s perfect 3060 from Oct. 13, 1949, the only earlier 300 in local history. Share’s 299 is Monroe’s second highest score, as he has 25 years of bowling and earlier high games. He also played with Cellar Team and Weasel's Tap in yesterday’s action.
