Rural Youth Day Set for May 6 at Turner Hall

Four Die as Pan American Stratocruiser Ditches Off Oregon
A Pan American Stratocruiser ditched and burned off the Oregon coast after an engine fire 25 miles offshore. Expansion programs for two Monroe churches received approval at congregational meetings. St. John's Evangelical and Reformed voted to buy the Simon Lynch estate behind the parsonage for Sunday school rooms at an estimated 10000 dollars, pending final church council approval tonight. An addition to St. Andrew's Episcopal will add a parlor house bedroom, a Sunday school room and minister's office in a 15 by 17 foot extension costing about 2400 dollars, hoped to be completed in early May.
