Red Cross Quota Nears Completion in City Drive
The Red Cross quota is halfway reached with receipts totaling 1542.48 from booths and gifts. City chairman Mrs. Robert Hendrickson announced the city aims for 3400 and that booths at both banks closed today with deputies Mines Arthur P. Benkett Ula Tyler and Robert Hendrickson in charge. The drive continues through March and donations may be left at either bank. County fund reports will be sent to R W Blaha.

She was born near Hamilton Ontario December 16 1861 to Ezekiel and his wife. She first married Clay Mathews 71 years ago in Highland he died in 1919 and she wed William Ten Eyck of Brodhead in Chicago in 1928.

Heroic Albany Father Dies After Fire Rescue
Neil Scott, 43, died at Mercy hospital after saving his four children from a Magnolia Corners blaze east of Albany. He jumped back into danger to rescue Lewis, Norma, Judy, and Neila, suffered extensive burns, and collapsed as relatives took the last child to safety. Fire appeared to start near the kitchen refrigerator, likely a short circuit. Scott was born Sept. 30, 1906, in Dayton, Green County, and was a graduate of Albany High School and Green County Normal School.

The assailant Alice Richard faced questions as she described her feelings and motive noting a recent telephone quarrel. Charles Trickle Dies in Freeport at 79
Charles W. Trickle, 79, long time Monroe and Browntown resident, died yesterday at his Freeport home after a lingering illness. Born October 28, 1870, he was a shoe clerk by trade. Family escapes blaze near Green Lake

Fanning Brothers Slain in Rock County Home
Two elderly brothers Pat Fanning 67 and John Fanning 71 were found bludgeoned to death in a secluded rock home near the Walworth Rock county line south of Lima Center. The double killing was reported at 11:20 a m as Sheriff Miles Sweeney and Undersheriff E A Silverthorn investigated the scene. The brothers were last seen alive about 2 30 p m Friday.
