Mrs. Harvey Goepfert of Route 3 won the 1969 Green County Dairy Salad Recipe Contest with Frosted Cheese Mold. More than 300 people sampled six finalists, with runners up including Mrs. Ronald Gabert and Mrs. Oscar Olson. Goepfert will represent Green County in a Madison TV bake-off and received prize sponsorship from local banks, sponsors, and the Green County Ag Chest.

Argyle Man Hurt As Cycles Collide
Quentin Road 16 Route 1 Argyle suffered facial and chest injuries when he was thrown from a motorcycle in a Lafayette County traffic accident around midnight. He was hospitalized at St. Clare Hospital. The crash involved two motorcycles operated by Rood and Gene Kemprood Route 1 Gratiot. Rood is in good condition today.

Mrs. Chester L. Stauffacher Dies at 61 in Madison
Mrs. Chester L. Stauffacher 61 of Route 1 Madison died at 2 45 a m Saturday June 28 in University Hospitals Madison after a lingering illness. She taught in several special education settings including Cottage Grove Albany McFarland and Estes Special School and was born Catherine Woodman in Chicago November 23 1908. She married Chester L. Stau f fcher March 7 1929 and they farmed in Sylvester before moving to Madison in 1962. Surviving are her husband a son Leo J of Miami a daughter Laura Taff and daughters Judith OConnell and Carol Zager all of Madison a brother Donald Woodman Monroe and four grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are handled by Stuessy Funeral Home with a memorial fund to the American Cancer Association. Memorial service is pending at Our Masters United Methodist Church.
