The first summer fisharee in Wisconsin will be held Sunday on Yellow Stone Lake sponsored by Lafayette County Sportsmen clubs. City approves park shelter project bids and starts construction
The City Council unanimously approved contracts for a shelter house and toilet facilities at Gen. Nathan E. Twining Park. General work goes to Alvin F. Guardsmen Return Planned For Monroe Armory
Area Guardsmen from Co. B of Green County National Guard are set to return to the Monroe armory between noon and 4 p.m. tomorrow depending on barracks inspections. At Camp McCoy the 32nd Division completes a two week intensive schedule with pay calls property turn-in and equipment care. Final equipment loads begin at 8 a.m. tomorrow and the camp is to be cleared by noon.

Joan Mary Engh a 19 year old sophomore at LaCrosse State College was crowned Wisconsin Alice in Dairyland at a Richland Center banquet. She will promote farm products for the state department and others starting July 1. The event included 20 contestants from across Wisconsin with Carole Becker earning the ADA prize and Miss Winsome title awarded to Helen Mae Hammer.
