A 28 year old rural Rockford man died when his arms were pulled between the steel rollers of a hay crushing machine in a 20 acre alfalfa field. The body was found after about an hour by his brother on the family farm four miles southwest of Rockford. Authorities said a loose glove glove rawhide end likely caught the rollers causing the fatal entanglement. The victim, Robert Earl Newman, was working alone when the accident occurred yesterday afternoon.
