Tschudy New Alderman Airport Plan Receives Okay
Monroe council elected Robert E. Tschudy to fill the unexpired alderman term. Plans were announced for airport development including eight hangars and facilities after a five year contract with the Monroe Airport Development Corp. A resolution for the contract will be considered soon. The meeting also approved gasoline pumps for the airport and a malt beverage license for C. J. Loveland, plus various authorizations and bids.

Auto Strikes Dog Woman Driver Dies in Shock
COMMACK New York, Miss. Cecilia Lynch, 65, of Stony Brook, N.Y., died at the wheel of her car Tuesday, apparently of a heart attack from the shock of striking a dog. Witnesses said she got out, looked at the animal, returned to the car and collapsed. The dog got up and ran away.
Faked Picture Plot Probed by Dane County Jurist
Dane County jail inmate Earl Jacobs and three state investigators testified in a John Dee probe into reports of faked photographs intended to threaten state officials including Gov Reynolds. Jacobs reported the plot after being approached in April. hearings are to continue full time for several days.

A Marathon Battery Co Astro-Liter plant producing a charcoal fire starter was destroyed by a fast moving blaze in 30 minutes, with damage over $100,000. About 25 employees, mostly women, escaped unharmed as fire extinguishers melted from the walls and a rigid prevention protocol was noted by Fire Chief Wilbur Petzold. The plant’s assembly line produced solid form starters attached to heavy cardboard using highly inflammable cement.

Mid West Turnday Set With Turners and Bummlers At Twining Park
Monroe hosts a holiday Turnday featuring teams from Cleveland and Milwaukee plus turners and bummlers. A 12-man Cleveland team with track and field participants and Swiss National entrant. New Accident Takes Family's Fourth Child
The Huey Chandlers suffered another tragedy as their fourth child died in an accident. Twins Mary and Martha, three, perished in 1955 when their family car caught fire. In 1956 their son Billy Gene was killed in a Texas auto crash. On Tuesday, 18 year old David Chandler and friend Carl Williams drowned when their fishing boat capsized. The family has five surviving children.

Firemen Stop Ammonia Leak At Monroe Plant
Firemen in Monroe doused gas masks to halt an ammonia leak from a tank car at the Badger Anhydrous Ammonia plant on Monroe's north side. Three firefighters climbed the car near a top valve stem as workers moved ammonia to a ground tank. Scene cleared after the 8 50 a.m. call.
