Travelmaster Rally Brings Warm Hospitality to Monroe Fairgrounds
The Travelmaster mobile home group gathered at Green County Fairgrounds for a long weekend in Monroe and nearby New Glarus. Members from Iowa to Michigan pitched trailers, toured towns, and joined a nucleus of potluck meals, bake sales, and dances. Murray and Pauline O Connor of Janesville led the event, with local hospitality from Monroe Chamber of Commerce signs and the Green County Boots and Saddle Club show.

Three youths die in Lafayette Highway 151 crash
A head on collision three miles north of Belmont on Highway 151 kills three youths, ages 18 and 15, and injures another, with Danny Christen, Richard Wilson, and Tom Faherty identified as the deceased and Ronald Mann as the injured. Christen and Wilson are Belmont and Platteville natives. funeral notices follow. The crash involved a northbound pickup and a car, both vehicles burning on impact.

Three From Area Credited With Aid To Accident Victims
A Green County trio aided a Des Moines family after a car veered off Illinois Highway 2 and sank in a creek. Dale Belke and Jodene Belke with Dan Schuur pulled out the grandparents Leonard and Phoebe Erickson, their son Charles, his wife the driver, and the two young girls. All were treated with the grandparents and son in fair condition and released information notes the other two children were treated and released.
