Daly Is Teacher For Conservation

Tom Daly of Monticello received the year’s outstanding conservation teacher award from the Richland Creek Watershed Association during its annual program. Guest speaker Jim Schwoegler portrayed Daly as a former student inspired by conservation efforts. Daly was praised for providing Monticello area youths with conservation education and cooperation with county agencies.

Girl Scout Day Camp Opens in Monroe Neighborhood

The Monroe Badger Council Day Camp starts Monday June 16 at the Kiwanis Youth Cabin. Joan and Jan Johnson Direct the two week event with junior scouts and aides. Second week runs June 23 to 27. Attendance 83 first week and 41 second week. Sessions run 9 30 am to 3 30 pm with buses at East South and Lincoln Schools. Bring health blanks sack lunch and sit-upons.

Wisconsin Badger Camp Seeks Area Support and Land Purchase

Funds in Monroe and Green County approach 1500 dollars for the proposed 723 acre Wisconsin Badger Camp near Wyalusing State Park. Land costs 47000 dollars at about 65 dollars an acre with development to follow. The two week Wyalusing camp for mentally retarded participants continues this summer, aided by candy sales and the United Fund.
