Monroe residents used more water in May than any previous May. City water chief Kenneth L. Mayer said total pumped reached 36 915 000 gallons, over 5 million more than last year and 7 million more than 1956. Firemen pumped about half a million gallons into the Bruni Miller building during last Thursday’s blaze. Regular pumping ran about 1 500 000 gallons daily, but over 2 000 000 were pumped in the 24 hours.

May Jobless Aid Drops in Wisconsin
