A twilight meeting at the Loren Bagley farmland on Highway 39 west of Albany reported four tons of grass per acre from a nitrogen fertilized plot versus a half ton per acre on unfertilized pasture. The one acre plot was clippings measured from a square yard, with 40 attendees including six University of Wisconsin professors. C J Chapman called the plot the best he has seen in the state. William Figs spoke on grassland farming and management.

Dairy Luncheon Sets Tomorrow for Queen Contest Votes
Dairy Queen contestants in three more county communities were named as balloting continues through June 16. Voting depends on dairy purchases and ballots from milk deliveries with 20 cents to 1 dollar earning one vote, rising per dollar. The county queen will be named at Brodhead on Dairy Day June 21 during a noon ceremony. Tickets available at county banks.

California Deputies Seek Boy Pair Tying Child to Tracks
Norwalk California deputies search schools for two boys who tied 7 year old Michael Evans to railroad tracks with a clothesline. The boy was rescued by his father Frank Evans as a train neared. Michael said the assailants threatened to hang him from a telephone pole. The youths, Rob in Lee Denton and Calvin Denton, aged 6 and 5, fled after the incident.
