Weekend Death Toll Totals Four in State
Wisconsin's highway death toll for the Memorial Day weekend reached four, far below recent similar periods and 54 fewer for the year than the 344 a year ago. All four victims were killed in the first hours of the travel period, with the latest death being Mrs. B. K. Taylor, 56, of Menomonie, who died after injuries from a Thursday morning crash on Highway 8 near Brantwood.

A Brodhead farm helper Marvin Huffman 17 suffered a fractured hand and contusions when his tractor rolled over pinning his hand beneath. James Flint rural Monroe and William T Stoehr rural McConnell were injured in a two vehicle crash four miles north of McConnell with Flint suffering facial cuts fractured ribs and bruises and Stoehr head and shoulder lacerations. Flint’s car rolled six times. Huffman was freed by neighbors and expected to leave hospital soon.
