Hero of Riot Held as Killer in Detroit Murder
Frank J. Hunt, 44, a paroled convict who helped guard Gov. G. Mennen Williams during a Marquette Prison escape attempt, is charged with murdering 72 year old Florence Helka in her Detroit home. Police say Hunt admitted slapping the victim after she caught him stealing $230. Hunt escaped a knife and iron weapon attack in 1950 while guarding Williams.
